REPORTS TO: Manager of Buildings and Grounds
School Administrators
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Experience or Training
Possess a comprehensive understanding and applied knowledge of plant, lawn and grounds maintenance. Ability to operate power snow removal equipment.
Special Experience or Training
Possess valid operator's license for driving work related vehicles. Evidence of a successful work experience and a strong attendance record.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Grounds, lawns and plant maintenance; general custodial services.
PRINCIPAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE WORK:
Types of Activities Performed Frequently
Perform seasonal lawn and grounds care.
Types of Activities Performed Occasionally
Attend work related institutes and workshops.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prune trees and shrubs.
- Seed, fertilize, aerate and water lawns.
- Maintain flowerbeds.
- Thin lawns and athletic fields.
- Operate job related power equipment.
- Remove snow and ice from grounds/lots.
- Lubricate and maintain assigned equipment.
- Establish lawn care program.
- Assist in general custodial services.
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the Manager of Buildings and Grounds.
