Shift Details: 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
As a Quality Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring that all purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials meet specifications by utilizing precision measuring instruments and devices. You will also inspect items for defects that may have occurred during transit, ensuring quality throughout the process. Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of received materials in accordance with approved documentation using statistical sampling methods.
- Understand and utilize the Non-Conforming Event (NCE) system to document any discrepancies.
- Identify and separate non-conforming materials during inspections, preparing for sorting and rework as necessary.
- Perform history reviews and First Article inspections on components.
- Review vendor documentation and inspect materials for acceptability based on specified criteria.
- Assist in tracking the completion of inspections, and help with failure investigations for NCEs, developing action plans and verifying effectiveness.
- Maintain compliance with all quality standards while adhering to the 7S program and quality policies.
- Participate collaboratively as a team to achieve contract objectives and goals.
What You Need to Succeed:
- At least 1 year of experience in quality assurance or auditing within a distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and follow quality procedures.
- Experience using calibrated measuring instruments.
- Basic skills with electrical and mechanical measurement tools.
- Proficient reading and writing skills.
- Ability to interpret specifications to ensure the conformity of mechanical, optical, and electrical components.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or technical degree.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and the ability to initiate corrective actions when needed.
- 3 years of experience as a receiving inspector, with expertise in measuring components according to specifications.
- Certifications such as Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) and Certified Quality Technician (CQT), or equivalent experience in quality inspection.
- Proficiency with digital, dial, and Vernier calipers and other measuring tools.
