Job Description
We are seeking skilled welders to join our team, focusing on welding carbon steel pipes ranging from 1\" to 23\" in diameter with thicknesses between 1/4\" and 1/2\". You will be involved in welding vessel-like products using open root MIG and flux core techniques. The role also includes fabricating silencers primarily from carbon steel and welding pipes on our valve product line, requiring preheating and using MIG and flux welding methods. Additional duties involve fitting shells together, attaching lifting supports or legs onto rolled plates, fitting weld caps onto pipes, and fitting flanges and nozzles onto materials. You should be able to read prints and perform basic math.
Responsibilities

• Weld carbon steel pipes ranging from 1\" to 23\" OD with thicknesses of 1/4\" to 1/2\".
• Fabricate silencers primarily from carbon steel.
• Weld vessel-like products using open root MIG and flux core techniques.
• Preheat materials and weld pipes on the valve product line using MIG and flux welding methods.
• Backgouge and fill grooves as needed.
• Perform light fitting tasks such as fitting shells together, attaching lifting supports/legs onto rolled plates.
• Fit weld caps onto pipes and flanges and nozzles onto materials.
• Bevel and square materials up.
• Read prints and perform basic math calculations.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of welding experience.
• Proficiency in MIG and flux core welding.
• Ability to backgouge and weld pipes 1\"-20\" in diameter or vessels.
• Experience in fitting components.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to weld using other processes such as TIG, sub arc, or stick welding.

Work Environment
Work in a clean, open-aired shop environment. This position is an open-ended contract extending through the end of the year and possibly well into next year depending on workload. Candidates may transition to a contract-to-hire role if the contract extends. Currently, the schedule is 13 days on and 1 day off, primarily during the night shift from 6pm to 6am, Monday through Saturday, with some Sundays as needed. Be prepared to work 60+ hours a week comfortably.

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
