Pack Line Operator
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Pack Line Operator for a company based in Baton Rouge, La. In this role, you will have the opportunity to ... The primary responsibility is to properly prepare packaging materials, periodic checks of finished product thickness, and packaging of product including palletizing, required documentation, and delivery to staging area for warehousing, all in accordance to instruction and procedure.

Pay Rate
$16.00 per hour

Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 8 00 am to 5 00 pm.

Pack Line Operator Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be of strength and stamina to maneuver 30-180 pound rolls from table to table for hours at a time, keeping pace with output from production line.
  • Must have the dexterity to build boxes and operate carton stapler.
  • Must be able to remain focused on inspection and documentation.
  • Must be able to recognize visual changes in product and variations in product weights and gauge.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret reports and business correspondence for a diverse audience.
  • Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and solution focused.
  • Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with public and staff in a personable and professional manner.
  • Maintains a high level of energy and a consistent positive attitude.
  • Ability to work alongside other employees within all levels of the organization.
Pack Line Operator Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • The Backline Operator must have reading and math skills necessary to follow written instruction and perform basic math calculations.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Operation of the surface winder.
  • Packaging of finished product.
  • Proper segregation of sub-standard product separate from prime product.
  • Responsible for Recorded Weight of Reject Rolls & Labeling on the Red Tape
  • of why the material was rejected.
  • Maintaining work area cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist in startup, in the establishing of the flow of the sheet from the die to the back-line.
  • Assists Production Supervisor in proper setting of edge trim knives.
  • Responsible for disposal of Fabric Edge Trim & Edge Trim to Grinder.
  • Responsible for CORRECT Weights of All Trim Removed from Knives.
  • Completes documentation of work in accordance with instruction and procedures.
  • Shares ideas for improvement and increases in efficiency.
  • Performs additional job duties as instructed by the lead Operator.
  • Responsible for Returning Labels, Boxes & Instructions to correct locations.
  • Responsible for Stocking back line with correct Labels, Boxes & Instructions.
