job summary:
A Senior Cost Engineer is needed for a lead General Contracting Organization for high-profile construction projects in the Fort Wayne, IN area. In this role, you will support successful project delivery through cost tracking, change management, and financial documentation while collaborating closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.

Ideal candidates will have a degree in Construction Management or a related field and a foundation in communication, problem-solving, and data analysis. Experience in a collaborative environment is essential, and candidates from smaller construction firms or those transitioning from project engineering capacity into cost are encouraged to apply as well. Our client requires 2+ years' of related cost work experience.

responsibilities:

  • Review and respond to subcontractor change requests with data-backed recommendations

  • Support MEP manifest billing accuracy and updates

  • Track and support subcontractor cashflows and owner billing activities

  • Communicate professionally and timely with subcontractors and stakeholders

  • Analyze data to support resolution of project cost issues while minimizing risk

  • Uphold professionalism and a solution-oriented mindset during conflicts
