Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Nuclear Medicine Specialist, you will play a critical role in gathering diagnostic information through radioactive materials and advanced imaging technology, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure outstanding patient care and efficient diagnostic processes.
Responsibilities of the Nuclear Medicine Specialist
- Conduct Nuclear Medicine examinations promptly, document necessary information, and communicate effectively with physicians and care staff.
- Coordinate patient care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Assess patient conditions to perform effective radiology exams.
- Inform and prepare patients for upcoming procedures to ensure their cooperation.
- Provide comprehensive direct patient care and maintain a safe, comforting environment.
- Engage with staff to meet patient and family needs effectively.
- Ensure availability of clinical equipment and supplies, complying with safety protocols.
- Document all relevant information and adhere to quality control standards.
Qualifications for the Nuclear Medicine Specialist
Education:
- Associate Degree
- Graduation from an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent. Certification by NMTCB and/or ARRT (N).
License/Certification Required:
- Certification as a Medical Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board.
- Certification by NMTCB or ARRT (N).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
