Youth Wellness Program Manager

The Youth Wellness Program Manager oversees culturally integrated wellness programming, clinic operations, and the management of clinical resources and referral processes at Lili'uokalani Center. In a leadership role, they manage mobile clinic providers and collaborate with the 'Ōlino Pathways Arts & Culture, Culinary, and Life Readiness teams. This position requires expertise in clinical practices, systems navigation, cultural sensitivity, and team leadership to ensure high-quality, holistic wellness services.
Lili'uokalani Center (LC):
Informed by a deep understanding of the adolescent experience and grounded in Hawaiian culture, the new Lili'uokalani Center provides Native Hawaiian youth with opportunities to connect with peers and mentors, access supportive services, and explore pathways to passion, purpose, and prosperity. As the newest initiative of Lili'uokalani Trust, the Center serves as a vibrant youth hub where kamali'i can learn, play, and build connections.
The Lili'uokalani Center is a safe, pro-social space where youth are inspired to pursue their dreams through the arts, sports, technology, life readiness, and wellness while receiving wraparound support that helps them reach their goals and thrive.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership for the development and implementation of wellness programming and services at Lili'uokalani Center
- Work collaboratively to develop appropriate, relevant wellness programs that integrate with other disciplines, highlight youth voices, and allow for youth co-facilitation
- Design and implement creative strategies for engaging youth in wellness programming
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate a wellness team
- Implement evidence-informed and culturally relevant interventions
- Through intentional programmatic development, design, and implementation, cultivate a sense of community, belonging, and social/emotional support for kamali'i
- Provide resources and support to LC staff to promote well-being and effective service delivery
- Integrate innovative, evidence-based approaches in holistic wellness to enhance programs and service offerings
- Oversee clinic operations, coordinate mobile providers, and manage referral processes to improve service access
- Support system navigation for youth and families, ensuring connection to appropriate clinical and community resources
- Participate in and lead, as appropriate, program planning, budget development, and evaluation
- Provide transportation for organization related business, such as driving staff, and beneficiaries to assigned destinations
- Participate in continuing education and training opportunities for professional development
- As appropriate, serve as a thought leader both internally and externally
- Contribute to the Trust's success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills and striving to improve team and organization results
- Foster partnerships and maintain effective communication with community stakeholders to enhance service delivery and accessibility for kamali'i
- Manage budgetary allocations related to wellness services and program activities, ensuring fiscal responsibility and resource optimization
- Oversee administrative tasks such as scheduling, reporting, and documentation to maintain efficient operations
- Master's degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field; licensure as a clinical therapist (e.g., LCSW, LMHC, etc.) preferred
- Deep understanding of Native Hawaiian culture, values, and history, with the ability to integrate these into wellness programming, fostering connection and holistic development
- Knowledge of evidence-informed interventions and therapeutic modalities relevant to holistic wellness
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Collaboration: Ability to interact effectively with youth, community partners, and multi-disciplinary teams. Knowledge of community resources and services
- Ethical Practice: Model the highest level of ethical behavior, integrity, and social responsibility Uphold and embody all LT values
- Communication: Clearly convey and receive information and ideas. Engage the listener and invite response and feedback. Demonstrate strong written, oral, and listening skills
- Cultural Competence: Respect and relate well to people from varied backgrounds and sensitive to group differences. Experience working with at-risk youth and ability to apply positive youth development principles to that work
- Relationship Management: Experience working with staff at all levels in a collaborative environment; ability to promote and sustain positive workplace values and relationships
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work well under pressure and to remain calm and controlled when faced with challenging situations
In alignment with our organizational competencies of Alu Like I ka Hana (Teamwork) and Ho`omau i ka `imi Na`auao (Continuous Learning and Improvement), this position will require occasional travel across the island, inter-island, and out-of-state depending on the needs of the team and the organization. While travel may not always be a need, the ability to travel when required remains a crucial aspect of this position.
