The Department of Corrections (DOC), Centralized Sentence Computation Unit is seeking self-motivated Records Specialists. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Records Specialist 1, you will verify inmate records within the DOC Centralized Sentence Computation Unit (CSCU) and calculate formal sentence computations and recommitment actions. You will review all available criminal history documentation to determine the disposition of criminal charges, analyze arrest data and Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC) documents, and ensure information entered into the CAPTOR system is accurate, consistent, and reliable. This role requires using basic mathematical skills to calculate sentence computations and review credits to process timely and appropriate presentations for parole consideration or discharge. In addition, you will respond to inquiries from inmates, DOC staff, and other agencies regarding completed sentence structures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 4 days per week with approval from your supervisor after the successful completion of your probationary or training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of clerical or correctional custodial experience; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
