Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team
JOB SUMMARY:
Provides direct and indirect care in the maternity setting. Communicates with physicians/charge nurses about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomology. Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. Participates in all performance improvement and quality assurance activities.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of thepatient and their clinical condition.
2. Ability to assess neonate at delivery and perform neonatal resuscitation according topolicy and procedure.
3. Ability, under direct supervision of and RN, to perform a head-to-toe physical reviewand reassessments of infants and adults and reassessments as her policy.
4. Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment andevaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
5. Implements a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluateseffectiveness of learning (family is included as appropriate).
6. Communicates appropriately and clearly to charge nurse, co-workers andphysicians.
7. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patients served.
Able to interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patients agespecific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.
8. Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinaryapproach to the patient's needs.
9. Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
10. Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians with procedures in Newborn Nurseryand Postpartum areas as appropriate.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current RN license valid within the state of Idaho (GN temporary license accepted). Must have current certification for CPR, BLS, PALS, and ACLS. Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (within 6 months of hire). STABLE course must be taken within six (6) months of hire. Complete NICU orientation competency during new hire orientation, and thereafter complete yearly ongoing competency. Must be aware of all policies and procedures for the CCN, L&D, and Post Partum.
Experience: Previous CCN experience preferred.
