Job Posting: Nanny & Family Assistant
(Full-Time, 50 hrs/week)
Location: DUMBO, Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: 50 hours per week
- Daytime: 10 hours/day, 4 days per week (roughly 8am-6pm with some flexibility)
- Evenings: Additional ~10 hours/week, typically 3 nights (for date nights & occasional later coverage)
Compensation: $40/hour ($2,000/week guaranteed)
Private family in DUMBO, Brooklyn, NY with an infant son and a friendly dog. Mom is the primary caregiver, but they are looking for a Nanny & Family Assistant to be a consistent, trustworthy extra set of hands - someone who can step in with childcare when needed and also help manage the household day-to-day.
They also have a housekeeper who comes 1x per week , so this role focuses on daily upkeep and organization, not deep cleaning.
Core Responsibilities (in order of importance)
1. Childcare Support
- Step in as a safe, reliable caregiver when Mom is at an appointment, needs an extra set of hands, or if requested for the evening
- Infant care as needed (Mom will handle the majority): feeding, naps, diaper changes, soothing, stroller walks, developmental play
- Must be CPR/First Aid certified (infant-specific strongly preferred)
- Order groceries & household items (Instacart, Amazon, etc.)
- Run errands, manage package returns, accept deliveries
- Coordinate with vendors (e.g., furniture deliveries, repair appointments)
- Customer service calls, basic household admin, occasional emails
- Handle family laundry regularly (washing, folding, putting away)
- Special care for baby's clothes, linens, and blankets
- Daily tidying (dishes, countertops, light vacuum/sweeping, organizing baby gear)
- Wipe dog's paws when she comes in from walks
- Keep the home running smoothly between housekeeper visits
- Assist with dog walks when needed (they also have a dedicated walker) likely 60-90 minutes per day

- Certified in infant CPR/First Aid
- Highly trustworthy and reliable - this role is central to their family's support system
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing household/admin tasks
- Pet-friendly (we have a sweet 55 lb dog)
- Bonus: Willing to travel by car with family on occasional trips (e.g., Hamptons, Sea Island, and or if comfortable, fly to Park City)
- $40/hour ($2,000/week guaranteed)
