Job Description

We currently have a career opportunity for a Program Manager to join our team. Perficient is seeking a highly skilled Program Manager to provide strategic oversight and act as a key partner to lead an ongoing effort to build a modernized strategic platform to support a core business process for an elite Perficient client. This individual will oversee the program's overall strategy, resource allocation, risk management, and the day-to-day tasks of individual projects.

Our Business Consultants fill a number of different roles on our project teams working with a variety of technologies for a wide range of clients. The specific responsibilities vary for each client and each project. Key to the success of our Business Consultants is the willingness and desire to quickly learn the client's industry and the unique requirements of each engagement and to fill whatever role may be required to best support our client's needs.

A Business Consultant thrives in challenging environments and accomplishes difficult assignments without significant supervision and instruction. Our Consultants can handle the stress of being accountable for delivery and: complete goals on time, practice strong attention to detail, persevere through tough obstacles, and do not get easily discouraged.

The Lead Business Consultant is a key delivery point of contact and will be involved in the strategic planning of an engagement or helping the client make decisions about their future IT direction. Once a project has begun, the Lead Business Consultant will facilitate key requirements with stakeholders and customers using standard and User Experience techniques. The Lead Business Consultant may be responsible for functional designs, detailed designs and system mapping, wireframes, requirement specifications, and prototypes.

The Lead Business Consultant works directly with Senior Project Managers and assist with daily operations exercising time management, communication and collaboration in a fast-paced environment to ensure the successful delivery of projects. The Lead Business Consultant will interface with Perficient technical and business delivery personnel, as well as vendors and customers on a regular basis. Will mentor junior Consultants.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Management

• Define Program Objectives and Scope: Clearly articulate the goals and deliverables of the program.

• Develop a Program Plan: Outline the program's timeline, budget, resources, and milestones.

• Align Program Objectives with Organizational Goals: Ensure the program supports the overall strategic direction of the organization.

• Manage Interdependencies between Projects: Identify and address dependencies between different projects within the program to ensure seamless execution.

Execution and Monitoring

• Monitor Program Progress: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify any potential risks or issues.

• Manage and Allocate Resources: Allocate personnel, budget, and other resources across the program to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

• Manage the Program Budget: Track spending, ensure adherence to the budget, and identify potential cost overruns.

• Identify and Manage Risks: Develop risk management plans and address any issues that arise during the program's lifecycle.

• Coordinate Activities between Projects: Facilitate communication and collaboration among project managers and team members.

Communication and Reporting

• Communicate with Stakeholders: Keep stakeholders informed about program progress, risks, and any changes or issues.

• Prepare Reports and Presentations: Provide regular updates on program performance to senior management and stakeholders.

Program Overview & Developing Improvement Strategies

• Scope, Design, Develop, Test, and Release: Deliver prioritized enhancement capabilities as identified in the Roadmap. Manage priorities and development capacity via the Program Governance Framework and Change Control Process.

• Address Production Issues & Defects: Coordinate with the Delivery Lead to ensure that production issues are being triaged, managed, and resolved in the Pega environments.

Strategic Planning

• Prioritization, Scoping, and Planning: Identify internal and external dependencies, and resource requirements for the program.

• Vendor Accountability: Ensure the vendor's delivery of the engagement, including oversight of engagement, deliverables, and schedule.

Key Deliverables

1. Weekly Status Report: Produce a weekly Platform Status Report detailing key program updates, risks, issues, and dependencies.

2. Roadmap Delivery: Deliver "Program Roadmap" capabilities and enhancements within the platform on a prioritized basis.

3. Platform Backlog Management: Coordinate with the Delivery Lead to ensure documentation and management of prioritized user stories and acceptance criteria are pulled into Agile "Sprints".

4. High-Level Scope, Roadmap & Resourcing: Document the high-level scope and roadmap for the delivery of functionality and associated resourcing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of product backlog tools such as Rally and Jira.
  • Experience with Platforms like Appian, Pega, ServiceNow, RPA is required
  • Working knowledge of collaboration suites including Confluence and SharePoint
  • Ability to translate high-level business objectives into detailed functional requirements
  • Familiarity with UX knowledge and principles is beneficial
  • Wealth management, financial services, and mobile applications are a plus
  • Understanding of application related projects and changes
  • Lead calls with business stakeholders independently
  • Ability to break down a product feature into stories
  • Experience Identifying and creating artifacts needed to represent the business requirements for a product (example: process flows, stories, interaction diagrams, matrices)
  • Experience creating templates for requirements artifacts (example: process flows, stories, interaction diagrams, matrices) that junior resources can leverage to produce deliverables
  • You understand how to write complete user stories that can be picked up for development with minimal changes.
  • You are able to consult with and collaborate with developers on how to break stories down
  • Aptitude to understand product architecture and technical components
  • Experience conducting product demos
  • Experience conducting product user training
  • You understand agile principals and can lead a scrum meeting when necessary
  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or comparable major.
Preferred skills and education:
  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Master's Degree
  • Strong understanding of complex Internet based enterprise level applications
  • Project management experience
  • Scrum or Product Owner certification


The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $64,974 to $149,880. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
