Diesel Mechanic- Night Shift

Tasks

Test drive vehicles and test components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices.

Perform repairs on diesel commercial vehicles to include but not be limited to tractor trailers, tankers and Hot Oil trucks.

Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.

Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes.

Replace tires.

Perform DOT inspections on commercial vehicles.

Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.

Confer with drivers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.

Maintain workplace cleanliness.

Adhere to safety policies and procedures.

Performs other duties an assigned.

Data base user interface and query software -Record keeping software; Vehicle management software ( Fullbay)

Information retrieval or search software - Online service manual database software; Technical manual database software

Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Diagnostic knowledge of diesel commercial vehicles.

Operate transportation equipment to demonstrate function or malfunction.

Repair non-engine automotive or vehicle components.

Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.

All other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour
