Job specification

  • Lead and oversee nursing staff in the surgical unit, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to best practices.
  • Coordinate and manage patient care activities, ensuring safe, high-quality, and patient-centered surgical services.
  • Act as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and training.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards related to surgical services.
  • Monitor and maintain surgical equipment, supplies, and overall unit organization to facilitate seamless operations.
Candidate requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required; a Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related field is preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Oregon.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience in surgery, with at least 3 years in a leadership or charge nurse role.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
  • Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) is preferred.
