Job Description:

Position Details:

• Pay: Average $80,000 - $90,000 Annually
• Monday - Friday schedule. Home daily
• Sign-On Bonus: Receive $500 a week for the first 30 weeks

Position Purpose:

Food and food service delivery drivers play a crucial role in maintaining the country's food supply chain. Our drivers ensure that customer products arrive on time and in good condition, while also serving as representatives of our company and building lasting relationships with our customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, providing accurate and timely responses to inquiries.
• Collaborate as a team member within the department and organization to best serve the company.
• Conduct all required safety checks including pre/post-trip inspections of the tractor/truck and trailer in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Report any safety issues and necessary repairs promptly.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
• Report safety hazards while inspecting trailers for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
• Complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly.
• Move the tractor to the loading dock and attach the preloaded trailer as needed.
• Drive to deliver customer orders according to a predetermined schedule.
• Unload products, transporting items to designated storage areas for customers.
• Perform damage control checks, scan items, and inform supervisors of necessary removals according to company policy.
• Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain necessary signatures.
• Collect payments (cash or checks) where required, and load customer returns onto the trailer securely.
• Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are always secured properly.
• Unload damaged goods and customer returns, completing requisite paperwork.
• Maintain daily records of hours of service in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers as necessary.
• At the end of your shift, secure all equipment and finalize necessary paperwork.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 months of commercial driving experience.
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Valid CDL A license.
• Comply with all State licensing and certification requirements (if applicable).
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
• Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass a road test.
• Hold a valid current DOT Health Card or be able to obtain one.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment for moving or stacking product cases of varying sizes and weights throughout the shift, typically ranging from 10-90 pounds.
