Position Details:
OR Tech 3 (Tier 3)- Kansas City, MO
Location : Kansas City, MO 64132
Project Duration : Fulltime / Permanent
SOB : Upto $20K
Shift Timing : General OR (Tech 3) Mixed Schedule (Rotating Weekends) 40-hour work week
Shift Differentials: $3 for Nights and $3 Weekends.

On Call Pay: $3

Job Summary and Qualifications:
  • The role of the Surgical Technologist III is to assist the OR team in the care of patients, equipment and supplies.
  • The Surgical Technologist III in 701 Surgery provides care for adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older.
  • The surgical technologist in the first scrub role handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
  • The Surgical Technologist III understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
  • The Surgical Technologist III has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
  • When the Surgical Technologist III is in the second scrub role they assist the surgeon and/or surgical assistant during the operative procedure by carrying out tasks including sponging, suctioning, cutting suture, holding retractors and manipulating the endoscopic camera.

What qualifications you will need:
  • 1+ Years of OR Tech Experience Required. (Must have endovascular experience in a vascular hybrid room doing wire procedures)
  • Must be competent to perform as lead in all of the following specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, Burn and Vascular Surgery
  • Two years prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required upon hire
  • Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
