Job Summary
Join our cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) team as an Experienced Certified Surgical Technologist. This full-time evening position operates from 10:30 AM to 11 PM every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with call requirements. We offer a $10,000 relocation assistance for qualified candidates.
We are located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, known for our world-class clinical expertise and patient-centered care. Your role will involve:
- Providing expert perioperative patient care using specialized equipment and instrumentation.
- Functioning as a scrub assistant to the physician during surgical and invasive procedures.
- Collaborating with a Registered Nurse to ensure optimal patient care.
You will need to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary for care appropriate to our patients through different life cycles.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program
- Licenses/Certifications: Certified in Basic Life Support, and current certification as a Surgical Technologist by NBSTSA or NCCT
Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
- Surg Tech I: 1 year
- Surg Tech II: 2-4 years
- Surg Tech III: 5+ years
Principal Accountabilities
- Serve as a resource specialist for an assigned operating room area/specialty service.
- Demonstrate aseptic technique and advanced surgical practices for all patients.
- Verify the availability and functioning of supplies, instruments, and equipment prior to procedures.
- Ensure safe care while adhering to all hospital policies and standards.
- Promote professional growth by meeting continuing education requirements and supporting departmental goals.
- Provide mentorship and training to less experienced staff.
- Commit to compassionate care while modeling service standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
