Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Oracle Application Developer to support development efforts for a major modernization initiative. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience with Oracle Forms (not APEX), PL/SQL, SQL, and Java, working as part of a collaborative development team. This role involves building and enhancing application functionality, troubleshooting and testing existing code, participating in group review sessions, and contributing to structured programming and documentation efforts to support ongoing modernization work.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and enhance applications using Oracle Forms, PL/SQL, SQL, and Java.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and debug existing software components to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Participate in structured programming review sessions and collaborate with team members on shared development tasks.
  • Engage in business process review sessions with stakeholders and application testers to validate requirements and functionality.
  • Use development tools such as Toad, Oracle Forms, and Subversion for coding, testing, and version control.
  • Document development work, including updates to technical designs, specifications, and testing materials.
  • Contribute to team discussions related to task assignments, priorities, and technical approaches.
  • Work within defined guidelines, timelines, and project goals as part of a coordinated development team.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing with Oracle Forms (non-APEX) and Oracle Database.
  • 5+ years of experience with PL/SQL development.
  • 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
  • Strong understanding of structured programming principles and software development techniques.
  • Experience with application testing, troubleshooting, and debugging.
  • Ability to create clear technical documentation and contribute to team-based development processes.
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Subversion.
