Job Title: Cognos Developer
Location: Charlotte, NC/Jersey City, NJ
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Client Industry: Banking
Duration: 12 -18 months Contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Must Haves:
- Experience in Data Analysis, Cognos development, Modeling, ETL concepts, SQL, Oracle, Containers, and Cognos Administration on V12.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience with Cognos Analytics.
- 3+ years of Platform Administration and Automation experience.
- Experience with Hybrid and multi-cloud Cognos Analytics deployments.
- Proficiency in using Cognos Analytics APIs for Administration/Automation.
- Advanced understanding of databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, and PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools such as OpenShift Monitoring, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
- Experience with tuning Cognos performance within a containerized/high availability environment.
- Design and implement efficient operating strategies for the Cognos Center of Excellence, focusing on long-term scalability in collaboration with other architects.
- Serve as a Cognos Analytics subject matter expert, advising and educating internal stakeholders on Cognos architecture blueprints and best practices.
- Independently or collaboratively troubleshoot complex platform and tenant issues to provide resolutions, including production issues.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and create project plans to achieve team objectives through collaboration.
- Monitor, maintain, and plan platform usage metrics using Python frameworks.
- Automate Cognos Administration using Cognos APIs or Python.
- Analyze usage patterns and anticipate workload to plan capacity.
- Assist and guide the migration of reports from other platforms such as SSRS, Tableau, Cognos, MicroStrategy, and Excel.
- Mentor junior team members and Cognos Analytics developers.
Hourly Rate: 68$-73$ per hour
This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
