Position Summary

The Area Manager is a key field leadership role with a primary expectation of developing, coaching, teaching their team to grow their business. The AM will lead several branches in a geographic territory working directly daily with the Branch Managers of these branches. This role truly makes an impact in the world of work. The Area Manager will create a culture of coaching, performance & accountability, leading all operational, recruiting & sales operations throughout their assigned territory, with a primary objective of growing the business through top-line revenue growth and finding operational efficiencies to be driving and improving EBITDA margin. The Area Manager models the way and helps align a vision - for the area, for individuals and their career path & opportunity.

Position Responsibilities

• Leads team in building, planning & executing annual budget process to the expectations directed by leadership.

• Spends the majority of time as a coach, teacher and developing and growing the skills and competencies of the team.

• Is an effective sales leader, spending regular time in the field with sales producers, understands and facilitates territory management, sales pipeline review and new customer acquisition.

• Enforce and adhere to Peoplelink's Assurelink(c) program and maximize the effective use of all risk prevention resources

• Conduct him or herself and lead others in an ethical manner, at all times adhering to the policies and procedures as documented in the staff handbook and operation manuals

• Understands what it means to be a team player and is highly engaged with peer group in collaboration, discussion and commitment to the results of the business unit as a top priority.

• Assist staff in establishing and executing a sales and marketing plan that assures achieving or exceeding budget

• Establish and execute a plan that results in growth beyond current year budget in the areas of new or additional services, new customers and additional territory

• Ability to work flexible hours and be on call, when necessary

• Be willing to represent the company through involvement in community functions and organizations

• Be willing and able to travel to customer facilities, company offices and vendor facilities

• Adhere to and enforce all company policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations; must ensure that all federal, state and local employment laws are followed

• Create and drive a culture of performance management and accountability where each individual knows the impact of their contributions and the expectations required of them.

• Facilitate and lead weekly 1/1 with direct reports, quarterly reviews and a monthly financial review process to create awareness of performance and action plans to drive improved results and performance.

• Be an idea generator and constantly looking for ways to improve and enhance service and operations.

• Be engaged ongoing and collaborate with Business Unit Leaders, Matrix Leaders and all leadership in the organization.

• Be a leader both top/down, down/up and across the organization with ongoing communication.

• Be aware of and highly knowledgeable with customer relationships and maintain a strong partnership and engagement with all customers in the territory to foster 3x3 relationships, customer experience and customer satisfaction.

• Be a champion and driver of NPS (net promoter scores) with talent, customers & internal staff.

• Educate client and team on industry and local market trends as a strategic partner

• Develop and provide solution-based options to sales staff and clients

• Collect on delinquent accounts and maintain an acceptable DSO

• Develop relationship with Corporate Managers and support staff

• Prepare the Quarterly Business Review for each branch

• Utilize corporate resources effectively and appropriately

• Set an excellent example and quality image to all company personnel, customers, business partners and the general public. Conduct activities as a company representative in an ethical and businesslike manner. Maintain and safeguard company assets and proprietary information

• Develop a full understanding of all branch roles/responsibilities, including knowledge of Avionte

• Initiate on-going self improvement in relation to job development

• Be capable of performing detail-oriented and repetitive work and multi-task

• Maintain a professional appearance

• Be capable of working with minimum supervision

• Be customer service driven

• Be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen

• Drive accountability through KPI's, Metrics and ongoing performance coaching.

• Communicate and show-teach the way for career development and progression

• Review and recommend compensation adjustments for staff when appropriate

• Recommend and consult with Manager when additional staff hires or other organizational changes are necessary

• Monitor and review branch staff performance

• Provide staff development and motivation by setting an excellent example of Leadership

• Promote and foster a team culture of the team you're leading

• Serve as a resource to help your managers, and others in leadership positions, achieve the objectives they are held accountable for

• All other duties as assigned

• Must spend 70-80% of time in each market area to assist in operations and sales growth.

Position Qualifications - KSA (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Assess accuracy and integrity; analyze data; ensure compliance with applicable standards rules, regulations and systems of internal control; interpret and evaluate results, prepare documentation, Detail oriented

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field

• Completion of an advanced degree preferred

• Requires a minimum of five years accounting experience

• Knowledge of Avionte, Microsoft Dynamics and Management Reporter

• Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel Access

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

To successfully perform the duties of this job, the staff associate is required to have the ability and skills sufficient to visit other offices, prospects and clients. In addition, the staff associate must have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate light to medium weights of 10 - 50 pounds. Requires good hand/eye coordination, arm/hand/ finger dexterity including the ability grasp and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate office equipment and read and write the application information. The staff associate is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
