What You'll Be Doing
- Conducting thorough patient assessments, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and developing personalized care plans
- Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions in partnership with physicians or independently (depending on your credentials)
- Providing education to patients and families on wellness, disease prevention, and management
- Prescribing treatments and medications within your scope of practice
- Engaging in patient follow-up and chronic care management
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, holistic care
- Maintaining meticulous and accurate records within electronic medical records (EMR)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Texas
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or equivalent specialty certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to obtain them within 90 days)
- Strong clinical judgment paired with a warm, compassionate approach to patient care
- Outstanding communication skills with patients, families, and clinical team members
- Ability to adapt in fast-paced, patient-centric situations
- Proficiency with EMR systems and comfort using telehealth technologies
