Outpatient Co-Occurring Therapist

CLUES' Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), Abriendo Caminos, will be providing immediate access to supportive, high-quality, culturally-responsive and integrated Behavioral Health services and pathways to wellness for the Latinx Community, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. The CCBHC model provides CLUES with a model for sustainable Behavioral Health service provision, which translates to increased access to consistent care for wellness in the Latinx community.
CLUES' Outpatient Co-occurring Therapist is responsible for providing an array of services in English and/or Spanish that support treatment and/or recovery to clients with serious Mental Health and Chemical Health needs through a culturally and linguistically appropriate and client-centered approach.
The Outpatient Co-occurring Therapist provides clients with counseling, assessments, education, and support to individuals, families, and the community and promotes a healthy lifestyle and supportive options. The position is responsible for promoting behavioral health services both internally within CLUES and externally within the community while also assisting staff in areas including, but not limited to, quality, outcome-based design, service relevance, delivery, effectiveness, and evaluation, all in alignment with CLUES' mission. Participation in other CLUES activities that enhance the capacity of the organization to provide quality services is also required.

Schedule: Full-Time. Generally, Monday - Friday Office hours, with occasional evening hours to accommodate clients as needed.
Estimated Salary: $60,000.00 to $85,500.00 (depending on experience & qualifications).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Outpatient Co-occurring Therapist Services
- Provide culturally responsive co-occurring counseling and outpatient treatment services to English and Spanish-speaking clients of various cultural backgrounds, in group and individual settings in order to meet program goals and objectives to create positive outcomes for clients.
- Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress concerning treatment goals.
- Provide Substance Use and Mental Health assessments for referred English and Spanish-speaking clients.
- Cultivate working relationships with CLUES staff within and across departments to support one another's work, facilitate client referrals, and improve client flow throughout the agency.
- Consult with other staff, interns, and volunteers within Behavioral Health and other departments on chemical and mental health-related topics. Attend and participate in clinical case consultation meetings and other client staff meetings.
- Contribute to the collaboration of the Behavioral Health department with other programs within CLUES to achieve service integration.
- Cultivate working relationships with potential service collaborators and/or partners, and other appropriate stakeholders.
- Provide consultation and presentations to individuals and/or groups in the community, other professionals, and organizations as assigned.
- Collect data and compile information for reporting purposes. Respond in a timely manner to all internal & external data collection & reporting requests.
- Maintain up-to-date clinical documentation per department standards and all requirements.
- Maintain and update clients' charts according to 245G, CCBHC, and 1115 Demonstration Waiver requirements, and other applicable regulations in a timely manner.
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, agency policies, and other applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Meet position goals for billable client contact while providing quality services.
- Assist in meeting department goals and objectives, including delivery of contract outcomes. Support positive relationships with funders and contract stakeholders.
- Participate in all internal and external activities required as stated in program contracts.
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings as required.
- Promote CLUES's mission, operating values, and services within the community.
- Carry out all other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
- This position reports directly to the Manager of Mental Illness & Substance Use Disorder (MI/SUD) and will interact on a regular basis with other members of an interdisciplinary team. This position works cooperatively with all program staff and other CLUES staff as requested.
Certifications/Licenses, Education, Experience & Key Abilities
- Master's degree required in social work, counseling, psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field from an accredited university.
- Licensed as a social worker (LGSW or LICSW) or working toward clinical licensure as a marriage and family therapist (LAMFT/LMFT), professional counselor (LPC/LPCC), or psychologist (LP) in the State of Minnesota required. With clinical licensure, must be eligible to be credentialed with all major insurance companies.
- Current licensure as Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC under Minnesota Statutes, chapter 148C) or Alcohol and Drug Counselor-Trainee (ADC-T) temporary permit to practice alcohol and drug counseling from the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health & Therapy (BBHT) with continued employment dependent upon receipt of full LADC licensure within 6 months of hire.
- Two years of experience providing direct services in the Chemical Dependency field preferred.
- Additional Requirements per Rule 245G for Alcohol and Drug Counselor:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be free of chemical use problems for at least the two years immediately preceding their hiring and must sign a statement attesting to that fact.
- Must remain free of chemical use problems as a condition of employment.
- Demonstrated competence in screening for and working with clients with mental health problems, through education, training, and experience.
- Required maintain certification in CPR and First Aid/AED (must earn certification within three months of hire and recertify every two years).
- Must know and understand the implications of parts 245A.65 (Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults), 626.556 (Reporting of Maltreatment of Minors), 626.557 (Reporting of Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults), and 626.5572 (Definitions).
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion in handing sensitive situations and confidential information.
- Skills and competency to provide culturally responsive services are required, including an understanding of cultural views around Mental Health, Chemical Health, and treatment.
- Must have a deep understanding of Latinx cultures, values, and traditions, and demonstrate cultural responsiveness in every aspect of the role, including communication with colleagues, staff, clients, community members; creating forms and documents; hiring and training staff; and in clinical supervision and consultation.
- Effective communication in Spanish and English, both verbally and in writing, required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written materials, including reports, contracts, and proposals.
- Ability to effectively present ideas and information in and organized and effective manner, including writing reports.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and respond appropriately to questions from clients, co-workers, management, and external parties.
- Proficient working knowledge of email software, the Internet, databases, and common Windows-based programs, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Must be willing to attend training to advance technical skills and maintain appropriate skill levels to perform job duties.
Background check
- Must pass a criminal background check, DHS Background Study, and MS-604.20 background check. As a condition of continued employment, staff person may be required to submit to periodic re-verification of these background checks.
