Schedule and Hours:

  • Full-time, evening shift options available.
  • 8 or 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday with on-call requirements, primarily overnight shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgeries by implementing aseptic techniques.
  • Assist with various surgical procedures and demonstrate knowledge of a variety of operations.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and safety within the operating room.
  • Act as a second assistant when needed and resolve any equipment supply issues.
  • Transport patients and equipment as necessary, ensuring patient safety at all times.
  • Maintain specialty carts, ensuring all tools and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
  • Adhere to age-specific care requirements for all patient demographics.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (to be obtained within 6 months).
  • Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology.
  • No prior experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and operating room equipment.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and bending frequently.
  • Exposure to various workplace hazards including mechanical, electrical, and bodily fluids.
