Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position with critical care and telemetry skills, requiring a WI or compact RN license.

Responsibilities
  • Position is in the Neuro ICU of a hospital setting
  • 18-bed critical care unit specializing in adult neuro patients with conditions such as stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, surgical resections, and neuro trauma
  • Evening and night shifts, 12 hours (1900-0730), including every other weekend and some holidays
  • Travelers are the first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations as needed
  • Provide intensive care nursing to critically ill adults with complex neurological conditions
  • Perform specialized procedures including hemodynamic monitoring and hypothermia interventions
  • Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team that values nurse-driven decision making
  • Comprehensive Stroke Center environment with access to nationally certified physicians
  • Supportive nursing leadership and opportunities for skill development
  • Holiday coverage may be required according to departmental needs
  • Parking on-site requires a permit, with alternative transportation options available
Requirements
  • Active WI RN or Compact RN license required
  • Must have current BLS and ACLS certifications through American Heart Association
  • Two years of recent acute care experience within the last three years
  • Prior neuro critical care experience with ICP or ventric device management
  • Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
  • Basic arrhythmia experience is required
  • Must pass a Telemetry test prior to starting the assignment
  • Must have successfully completed a previous 13-week travel assignment
  • Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the worksite
