Responsibilities
FAaaS Provisioning builds and operates the control plane and factory automation that provision Fusion Applications environments on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Gen 2. As an IC3 engineer, you will design, build, and operate provisioning workflows and services that create, scale, patch, and heal Fusion environments across regions and pillars, with a focus on reliability, security, and cost efficiency.

We are looking for a Senior Engineer with cloud experience to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be technically strong and must have an understanding of large-scale distributed systems (cloud-based environments). In addition, they will have a good experience of taking a new major feature from start to release. This role will drive the technical aspects of our product definition, contribute to the product strategy of our solutions, and contribute to the development of next-generation Platform system features for Oracle's laaS cloud environment.
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our cloud infrastructure solutions are designed and built with the highest level of scalability in mind. You will partner with other development teams responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing solutions within a distributed computing environment. You will conduct threat modeling of systems under development, ensuring systems are built to align with security, identity, metrics, search, and others in the design, development, and deployment of distributed systems.
Qualifications
¦ 3+ years of distributed cloud engineering experience in a software development environment
¦ Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in PaaS/SaaS engineering.
¦ Experience developing service-oriented architectures and web services security solutions
¦ Development experience in Java/C++/C# as well as scripting languages
¦ Experience working with other cloud platform teams and accommodating requirements from those teams (compute, networking, search, store).
¦ Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences
¦Comfortably in a collaborative, agile development environment.
Preferred Qualifications
¦ Deep understanding of object-oriented design and SDK development, specifically within a cloud environment
¦Familiarity and understanding of distributed computing and cloud-based platforms
Responsibilities
-
Design and implement provisioning services, APIs, and pipelines for tenant/environment lifecycle (create/clone/patch/scale/decommission).

Build reliable orchestration/workflows using infrastructure-as-code and eventing; ensure idempotency, retries, and safe rollbacks.

Integrate with OCI services: Compute/OKE, Networking/LB/DNS, Object Storage, IAM/Vault/KMS, Logging/Monitoring/Alarms, API Gateway.

Improve fleet reliability with SLIs/SLOs, auto-remediation, and performance tuning to reduce time-to-provision and failure rates.

Partner with SRE/Operations for incident response, postmortems, capacity planning, and on-call support.

Partner with Preflight and the release team for triaging preflight issues and ensuring smooth, timely code release.

Embed security-by-design: least-privilege IAM, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, auditability.

Contribute to technical design reviews, documentation, and mentoring across the team.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,200 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
