ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence OR will provide supervision for Clinical Fellowship Year; Licensed by SC Board of Examiners preferred but not required

QUALIFICATIONS: Current South Carolina certi?cation in Speech

REPORTS TO: Principals as assigned/Director of Special Education

JOB GOAL: To provide quality services for the maximum intervention of speech/language disabilities

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Screens, evaluates, and diagnoses speech/language disorders and determines student eligibility for enrollment in the speech/language
  1. Develops goals, objectives, methods, and materials to assist students in achieving their highest potential.
  1. Provides speech/language services in full compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
  1. Maintains student records in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
  1. Consults with principals, clinicians, teachers, parents, and other agencies as needed.
  1. Strives to maintain and improve professional competency.
  1. Attends school and district staff meetings and serves on committees as required.
  1. Closely supervises children of all developmental levels, including the safety of small children (keeping objects our of mouth, etc.)
  1. Logs therapy sessions and/or paperwork daily into the computer.
  1. Navigates the school building by safely walking students to and from therapy sessions.
  1. Participates in staff development
  1. Performs other duties as directed.
