United Trades of America is seeking experienced Concrete Finishers to join our team. As a Concrete Finisher, you will play a crucial role in the construction and maintenance of concrete structures and surfaces. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that concrete surfaces are properly finished, smoothed, and sealed to meet quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Concrete Finishing:

    • Smooth and finish concrete surfaces using hand and power tools, including trowels, screeds, and edgers.
    • Operate power saws to cut expansion joints and remove excess concrete.
    • Patch, repair, and resurface damaged concrete structures as needed.

  2. Formwork and Preparation:

    • Assist in setting up concrete forms and molds.
    • Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and depth of concrete forms.
    • Place and secure reinforcing materials, such as rebar, mesh, or wire, as required.

  3. Mixing and Pouring:

    • Assist in the mixing and pouring of concrete according to project specifications.
    • Monitor concrete consistency and adjust as needed.
    • Ensure proper curing of concrete to achieve desired strength and durability.

  4. Quality Assurance:

    • Inspect finished surfaces for defects and imperfections.
    • Make necessary adjustments and repairs to ensure a smooth and uniform finish.
    • Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.

  5. Clean-Up and Maintenance:

    • Clean and maintain tools and equipment regularly.
    • Keep the work area clean and organized.
    • Dispose of waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations.

  6. Teamwork:

    • Collaborate with other tradespeople, contractors, and supervisors on construction projects.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project objectives are met.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques.
  • Familiarity with concrete construction tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
