Accounts Payable Specialist

Position SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounts payable functions, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and supporting the month-end close process. The ideal candidate has prior accounts payable experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable Processing
- Manage and maintain the accounts payable aging report, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Process vendor payments, with a primary focus on preparing and printing physical checks.
- Review invoices for accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with company policies.
- Reconcile large vendor statements on a monthly basis and follow up on discrepancies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries related to payments and account status.
- Communicate payment schedules, resolve issues, and negotiate or establish payment plans with vendors as needed.
- Assist with the financial month-end close by reconciling assigned sections of the operating bank account, including clearing accounts payablerelated electronic payments.
- Prepare and record accruals for outstanding invoices and expenses.
- Prior accounts payable experience
