Medical Practice RN in the Pulmonary Department Danbury, CT. 40 hours per week, 8 hour shifts Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. This role supports the COPD initiative program and triages patient calls to provide physicians the time to see patients.
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 - Sign-On Bonus for Full-time externals only, pro-rated for Part-time.
Location: Danbury, CT. Organization: Nuvance Health Medical Practice CT.
Responsibilities- Prepares materials, supplies, equipment and the patient to assist the physician or the physician assistant with the patient's medical exam.
- Obtains the patient's history and basic medical data such as vital signs, temperature, height and weight, vision and chief complaint.
- Provides direct patient care, such as vaccinations and medications, wound care and suture removal.
- Collects, prepares and analyzes patient specimens as directed by the physician or physician assistant.
- Instructs the patient and family on preventive care, medication administration, test preparation, monitoring treatment progress and recognizing symptom changes.
- Contacts the patient by telephone to provide follow-up, relay test results or physician instructions.
- Performs organizational responsibilities to support the Practices' and WCMG missions through total quality improvement processes.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Maintains and models Nuvance Health values; demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Education: Associate's degree or equivalent required; RN License is required.
- Experience: Three years job-related experience preferred.
- Computer skills/data entry (including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook). Clinical office functions, including direct patient care.
- Verbal and written English proficiency.
Manual dexterity; some motor coordination; occupational risk; physical effort may be medium to heavy, up to 35 lbs. Generally pleasant working conditions.
Salary: $33.66 - $67.05 hourly.
