Job Title: Quality Improvement Coordinator

The Quality Improvement Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Director of Quality Management to develop and implement a comprehensive quality management program within Correctional Health Services. The position will require the RN to evaluate and monitor clinical processes, to determine strategies to improve the quality and safety of care and to work collaboratively with clinical nursing leadership in the implementation of quality and patient safety initiatives. The position requires a strong clinical background, familiarity with psychiatric and correctional nursing processes and proficiency in the use of an electronic health record.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah. License must be active and in good standing.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Clinical experience: a minimum of 2-3 years of direct clinical nursing is required. 12 months of experience in correctional healthcare is preferred. Experience in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing is preferred.
  • Quality experience: one year of experience in quality management, quality improvement or risk management preferred. Must demonstrate a strong understanding of quality improvement principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory: Understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards including the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC).
  • A strong knowledge of evidence-based community standards
