OverviewThe Procurement Specialist I will assist in purchasing products, chemicals, drugs, and non?capital supplies. Key responsibilities include daily order management, confirmation handling, inventory replenishment, and resolving pricing and product issues. The role manages purchase order lifecycle, confirms receipt of orders, tracks order status, and maintains the catalog of anticipated receipt dates. The specialist communicates backordered lines to requestors and serves as a bridge for supply shortage mitigation. In addition, the role manages all exceptions in the health systems electronic data interchange platform, GHX.
Responsibilities- Assist in daily purchase order management and confirmation handling.
- Replenish inventories and notify contract teams of product changes.
- Resolve pricing and product issues and troubleshoot procurement processes.
- Communicate backordered lines to requestors.
- Serve as a liaison between customers and suppliers, building strong relationships.
- Manage exceptions in GHX and ensure alignment with supply chain excellence.
- Expedite, cancel or defer purchase orders to support customer needs.
40 hours per week (Full Time). Day Shift. Work onsite every Monday and Tuesday; remote Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Location: 3910 Keswick Road, Baltimore, MD 21211. Free parking.
Education & Experience- Bachelors degree required; Supply Chain, Healthcare or Business?related degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months procurement experience required.
- GHX proficiency within first 6 months.
- LinkedIn Learning Excel?based training within first 90 days.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to navigate and prioritize issues across SAP, GHX, and ServiceNow.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot Supply Chain problems by identifying stakeholder and resolving issues.
- Multi?tasking, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Quick learner and willingness to develop in the supply chain department of JHHS.
Minimum $26.12/hour Maximum $43.11/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
