Senior Software Engineer

Yoh has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Global Entertainment client. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant working experience, and live within a commutable distance to the Seattle area for an hybrid work environment (4 days in office). Title: Senior Software Engineer
Compensation: $65-84/hour
Type: 6-Month Contract
Industry: Entertainment
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a distributed engineering team in building software through a highly cooperative development process.
- Design and implement high-performance, scalable, and reliable systems for enterprise deployment.
- Lead architecture discussions and planning sessions for core platform services.
- Contribute to and review code, providing constructive feedback through the pull request process.
- Participate in the on-call rotation, ensuring smooth operation of systems and services in production.
- Author and review technical proposals and conduct root cause analyses for incidents.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance and technical leadership.
- Define and establish engineering best practices and standards to ensure consistent quality across the team.
- Contribute to the broader engineering community through knowledge-sharing activities such as presentations, documentation, and tech talks.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience delivering backend applications in production environments.
- Strong expertise in Java, database scaling (SQL and NoSQL), and stream processing.
- Proven experience building RESTful APIs and services.
- Solid understanding of asynchronous programming models (events, callbacks, promises, async/await) and threading/concurrency concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with source control tools (Git preferred).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools such as Jenkins and Docker.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Self-driven, resourceful, and highly skilled at problem-solving.
