Job Description Job Description Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. A pharmacy role is available for a 13-week contract in Pawtucket, RI, offering an opportunity to work in a long-term care setting. This position requires a licensed Pharmacist ready to start as soon as possible, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, including a mix of day and evening shifts. Responsibilities include accepting and dispensing prescription medications, monitoring patient medication compliance, and ensuring all medications are legally and properly supplied. The role involves maintaining confidential patient records accurately and managing pharmacy files effectively. You will advise patients on medication usage, possible reactions, and answer their questions. Additionally, you will provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications regarding storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions. Further duties include providing patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management, educating patients on handling medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters, and compounding medications for internal or external use. Preparation of sterile solutions following proper procedures is also part of the job. Supervisory responsibilities over pharmacy staff such as technicians and clerks are required, along with maintaining appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Effective communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners to identify and manage drug-related problems is essential. Qualifications: Doctor of Pharmacy degree State pharmacy license in-hand (RI license required) Prior IV experience is mandatory Location: Pawtucket, Rhode Island This contract assignment is suited for candidates prepared to start immediately and thrive in a regulated, patient-focused environment.
