Cook Associate

As a cook, you'll play a vital role in the preparation and execution of hot and cold meals in our restaurants, room service, and grab & go markets. From line cooking and prep cooking to vegetable prep, short order cooking, catering, and mise en place, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and make a positive impact on those we serve every day.
Essential Functions
- Assembles and prepares ingredients for cooking by cleaning and cutting.
- Follows standardized recipes, calculation ingredients based on weight and volume.
- Records temperatures correctly on temperature log sheets.
- Responsible to replace food items that do not fit standards.
- Stores food items as required, labeling and dating items per standards.
- Utilizes leftovers within allotted time.
- Sets up steam tables on patient and cafeteria tray lines.
- Communicates with other staff members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Vocational/Technical Vocational training in food service or currently enrolled.
- Student Culinary Internships student workers meeting Internship requirements
- 1 year of relevant experience in food preparation/serving
