Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineerto join our Civil Site Development team in Brooklyn, NY. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and delivery of civil engineering projects, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:

Support and lead aspects of civil engineering design for site development projects, including grading, drainage, utilities, roadways, and stormwater management systems.

Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports in accordance with project requirements and standards.

Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including support in obtaining permits and approvals.

Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other disciplines to integrate civil engineering solutions into broader project scopes.

Participate in quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency in deliverables.

Provide technical support during construction, including site visits and addressing field issues.

Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting efforts.

Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices, and apply innovative approaches to improve project outcomes.

May require occasional travel to project sites or other Hatch offices.
What you bring to the role:
-
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a recognized and accredited institution.
-
10–15 years of relevant experience in civil/site development engineering.
-
EIT certification required; PE registration in Pennsylvania preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
-
Proficiency in civil design software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and related tools.

Strong experience in bulk earthworks, site grading, storm drainage, access roads, and utility layout for medium to large-scale projects.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work well in team environments and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000 (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
