This full-time position runs Monday through Friday and offers a $10k sign-on incentive.

Primary Purpose: You will be responsible for performing routine to complex breast imaging and procedures that adhere to the standards set by PHHS, as well as State and Federal regulations.

  • Education:
    • Graduation from an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology is required.
    • Preferred completion of an accredited Mammography Technologist program, but we are open to training registered Radiologic Technologists.
  • Experience:
    • Prefer candidates with two years of experience in mammography, including screening and diagnostic mammograms, as well as assistance with biopsies and needle localizations.
  • Certification/Registration/Licensure:
    • Must hold ARRT in Radiography.
    • Preferred ARRT Advanced Certification in Mammography; advanced certification must be obtained within the first 12 months of employment.
    • Must possess Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from Texas Department of State Health Services or Texas Medical Board.
    • A current Healthcare Provider (BLS LEVEL) CPR course completion card is required prior to hire from recognized organizations.
  • Skills or Special Abilities:
    • Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
    • Advanced computer skills essential.
    • Capable of complex positioning for optimal imaging results in accordance with American College of Radiology standards.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
    • Demonstrated patient-centered approach.
    • Must perform team lifting for mobile mammography van setups and removals.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct mammography tests to produce high-quality breast images for radiologists; evaluate patient history to ensure appropriate procedures.
  2. Carry out Quality Control checks on equipment in accordance with American College of Radiology standards.
  3. Maintain accurate documentation within the Radiology Information System for patient procedures.
  4. Communicate procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding.
  5. Foster positive relationships with all team members, and may assist in training radiologic students.
  6. Explore process improvement opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction.
  7. Stay updated on rules, regulations, and developments in mammography; integrate new knowledge into practice.
  8. Participate in departmental improvement programs and meetings.
  9. Perform additional duties as required.
