Infection Preventionist / Wound Nurse Manager
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Infection Control & Wound Nurse Manager (RN or LPN) to join our nursing leadership team. This role oversees the facility's infection prevention and wound care programs, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports high-quality resident care.
The Infection Preventionist is responsible for coordinating all activities of the infection prevention and control program that meets the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements.
Responsibilities:
As an infection prevention nurse, you will:
Oversee and maintain the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program, including surveillance, documentation, and compliance monitoring.
Oversee and maintain the facility's wound care program, including assessments, documentation, treatment coordination, and quality oversight.
Monitor healthcare-associated infections, identify trends, assess risks, and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
Conduct outbreak investigations, implement control measures, and report communicable diseases to state agencies as required.
Initiate, review, and revise infection prevention and wound care policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
Provide ongoing education, coaching, and competency support to nursing staff and providers, including orientation and routine in-services.
Complete follow-up on employee and resident exposures to communicable diseases and ensure proper documentation and communication.
Manage staff and resident infection-related processes, including employee new hire physicals, two-step Mantoux testing, and annual or as-needed N95 fit testing.
Participate in QAPI, leadership meetings, survey readiness activities, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Assist with nursing leadership coverage, including on-call responsibilities and Manager-on-Duty rotation.
Collaborate with the DON, Unit Managers, department heads, providers, and the interdisciplinary team to support high-quality resident care.
Support wound and infection control documentation reviews and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or directed.
Qualifications:
Current Ohio RN or LPN Nursing License in good standing
Current CPR certification.
Working knowledge of regulatory compliance in a Long-Term Care Setting
Previous experience with PointClickCare is a plus.
