Exciting Opportunity: We are offering a $10,000 SIGN-ON Bonus with distance-based relocation available and a $2,000 SIGN-ON Bonus eligible for PM Shifts at ASLMC. Join our dynamic OR Team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, Wisconsin’s largest hospital featuring a 24/7 on-site heart-care team, providing innovative care to patients globally.

Schedule/Hours: Full-time, evening shift with 8 or 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. Expected on-call duties include overnight shifts (approximately 5-8 call slots) and 1-2 weekend call slots within an 8-week scheduling period. Call hours may vary, and you will need to arrive within 30 minutes during call hours.

Major Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment to support optimal patient care, adhering to aseptic surgical techniques during preparation for surgical procedures.
• Assist with various surgical procedures and maintain knowledge of diverse procedures.
• Ensure environmental disinfection and operational efficiency in the operating room, including room setup and equipment management.
• Function as a Second Assistant as needed.
• Communicate supply or equipment issues promptly to the appropriate staff.
• Handle patient and equipment transportation as necessary.
• Maintain and check the completeness of specialty carts and items.
• Demonstrate the ability to assess and respond to the unique needs of patients across different age groups.

Licensure and Education Required:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months unless otherwise determined by department leadership.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is required.

Experience and Skills Needed:

• No experience is required.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical equipment.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to meet annual educational requirements for hospital-based certifications.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Physical activities may include lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying up to 40 lbs., and pushing/pulling with 30 lbs. of force as necessary.
• Exposure to various hazards including mechanical, electrical, chemical, and biological risks, requiring safety measures such as wearing masks and gloves.
• Functional sight and hearing, requiring the ability to sit, stand, walk, and engage in various physical activities frequently during the work shift.
