The job summary and responsibilities include providing assessment, teaching, and follow-up instruction to a specific patient population and providing guidance to management, staff, and physicians. It also involves identifying needs, planning and implementing educational programs within specialty areas for staff, patients, and/or community. Additionally, the role serves in a consultative role to staff, management, and health professionals in the hospital and community with a focus on quality and cost containment. Disseminating and conducting nursing research, serving as a leader in the development and attainment of organizational goals, demonstrating professional practice by serving as a liaison among the program staff, advisory committee, and facility administration, defining, refining, re-focusing role in relation to nursing and organizational needs, role modeling positive guest relations and collaborative practice, and being self-directed in fostering personal expertise and future professional development are also part of the job.
The job requirements include an Associates Degree in Nursing, one year's nursing experience, Registered Nurse, BLS, and must have peri-op experience. Preferred experience includes at least 3-5 years of peri-op nursing.
