Job Description

The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer operates ultrasound equipment to create detailed images of the heart, aiding in the diagnosis and monitoring of cardiovascular conditions. A key part of the role includes performing and analyzing echocardiograms, explaining procedures to patients, and maintaining and operating the ultrasound equipment. Responsibilities also include maintaining patient records, collaborating with cardiologists, and participating in ongoing education.

Responsibilities

  • Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain detailed cardiac images
  • Perform and analyze echocardiograms
  • Explain procedures to patients and reassure them during exams
  • Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment
  • Keep patient records updated and accurate
  • Collaborate with cardiologists on patient care
  • Engage in ongoing education to stay current in the field
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) - Required
  • 2 years of echocardiogram technician experience - Required
