Kitchen Steward - Job Description (Casino & Restaurants)

Must be 18 years old

Job Description:
The Kitchen Steward is responsible for ensuring that all dishes and cooking supplies are properly cleaned, and that all surrounding kitchen and service areas are kept clean, organized, and well maintained.

Job Requirements:
  • Wash all dishes cleared from the dining areas.
  • Wash heavy pots, pans, and cooking utensils.
  • Dust, sweep, and mop various kitchen areas as needed.
  • Monitor kitchen garbage levels and empty bins when necessary.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with guests, team members, and vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Descripción del Puesto:
El Steward de Cocina es responsable de asegurar que todos los platos y utensilios de cocina estén correctamente limpios, y que todas las áreas de cocina y servicio se mantengan limpias, organizadas y en buenas condiciones.

  • Lavar todos los platos retirados de las áreas de comedor.

  • Supervisar los niveles de basura en la cocina y vaciar los botes cuando sea necesario.
  • Mantener una actitud positiva y profesional durante todas las interacciones con los huéspedes, compañeros de trabajo y proveedores.
  • Realizar otras tareas asignadas.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma and/or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a kitchen or as a dishwasher is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
  • The ability to take and follow directions well.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • The ability to maintain composure in a fast paced, potentially stressful environment.
  • The ability to successfully interact with all levels of team members and management.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, with variable overtime.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
