Survey volunteers: Help with our annual survey of feeding programs
3 days ago
Hunger Free America manages a national database of feeding resources (food banks, soup kitchens, food pantries, WIC/SNAP offices, etc.). Our goal is to maintain the most comprehensive collection of food resources in the country and to substantially increase visibility and accessibility of resources to individuals who need them.
For this service project you will be helping HFA’s data team with our national database by ensuring the accuracy of existing food pantries/soup kitchens listings. We are also in the process of conducting our annual survey of feeding programs, which helps us educate elected and appointed government officials, funders, and the news media on the extent of hunger in America, and the operational challenges faced by feeding programs.
Volunteers for this project will be helping HFA's data team verify information for our national database by answering survey questions over the phone with feeding programs, or obtaining an email address for feeding programs to complete the survey on their own time. In short, volunteers for this project will select sites from our list of resources and submit data on that site.
Volunteers will . . .
Place calls, leave voicemails, and gather emails to obtain & confirm critical information from staff persons at the sites. Answers will be collected through the survey form (survey links and scripts below).
Fill out the survey for sites and submit it.
This information such as details on where food and volunteers are needed most will be routed to the appropriate partners, and the site statuses will be freely available to the public, as well as help the national Hunger Hotline connect callers to the most up-to-date resources.
Time commitment- Very flexible according to your availability. We recommend doing this task between 12PM-5PM EST and you can do as little or as much as your schedule allows. Surveys should be completed by November 25th, 2025.
Once you apply, we will send you an instruction guide for the task.
