Job Title: Senior Java Developer

Location: Cleveland, OH

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Java Web Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and implementation of application software within a full-stack service-provider environment. Your expertise will contribute to the achievement of company business strategies and objectives. As a Java Web Developer, you will provide technical consulting to management, business users, and technical associates, and may serve as a mentor to junior developers. This role specifically involves the development and analysis of applications related to EDI, Online Ordering, and Pricing applications.

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning:
  • Provide input and suggestions for accepted solution designs based on client requirements.
  • Recommend technical and process improvements to senior technical team members for review.
  • Foster a broad knowledge of new technology, languages, and systems.
Acquisition & Deployment:
  • Gather business requirements for proposed applications.
  • Perform medium to large programming assignments, adhering to established programming standards, methods, and best practices.
  • Design application and database components for development projects.
  • Analyze business models, logical specifications, and/or customer requirements to design and build Internet solutions utilizing multiple technologies.
  • Mitigate significant risks associated with complex projects or those presenting challenges to the business.
Operational Management:
  • Maintain and modify web applications, ensuring approved changes are documented and implemented.
  • Conduct thorough testing of all coding changes.
  • Provide support for critical web application problems and issues.
  • Produce user and system documentation for operational and technical support.
  • Assist in the discovery and investigation of critical production problems as required.
Incidental Functions:
  • Research new tools and technologies as needed.
  • Assist in training and knowledge sharing with development teams, coaching junior-level developers and/or Professional Apprentices as needed.
  • Project/task management and reporting as necessary.
  • Deliver presentations to management, clients, and peer groups as requested.
Qualifications:

Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

Knowledge & Experience:
  • 2+ years of IT experience.
  • 2+ years of Java (or related) Web Application development experience and object-oriented analysis and design.
  • 1+ years of experience in an Enterprise Database Management System (preferably Oracle), including intermediate or higher use of SQL and database management constructs.
  • Preferred experience in Java, J2EE, JavaScript, HTML, JDBC or Hibernate.
  • Experience in React, Vue.js, Java Spring Boot, Maven, Docker/K8S, AWS, Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture integration, and Responsive web design preferred.
