Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Directs the work of Lineworkers in the construction, operation and maintenance of both overhead and underground electric transmission and distribution systems and substation construction per Engineering work orders.
  • Ensures work performed in accordance with Lebanon Utility construction standards and OSHA work rules.
  • Performs the duties of a Journey Lineworker/Foreman.
  • Trains personnel from Lineworker Apprentice to Journey Lineworker.
  • Ensures pertinent construction data is recorded and engineering drawings complete at the conclusion of a work order.
  • Prepares reports relating to vehicles and construction equipment ensuring all are operating safely and in good repair.
  • Operates heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, derricks and related tools.
  • Participates in After-hours Service Watch rotation
Qualifications:
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • 4 to 6 year's electrical transmission/distribution line and substation construction and maintenance experience. Four years of related electrical equipment operation experience.
  • Some level of Supervisory/Management course work recommended.
  • Thorough knowledge and familiarity with principles and practices of electric power line construction, maintenance, and substations required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills necessary in order to deal with a wide range of personalities both inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to make informed immediate decisions and direct employees in emergency or highly stressful situations.
  • A valid Indiana driver's license and CDL required. First aid and CPR certifications required.
