The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity formed by Mass General Brigham to deliver high quality, low cost, innovative community-based ambulatory care. Our practice is located at 170 University Drive Amherst, MA 01002. As a Family Medicine office, we offer comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, from infants to adults.

Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support the practice onsite, Monday through Friday. We are open to this employee working 7:30am-4:00pm, 8:00am-4:00pm, or 8:30am-5:00pm.

As true partners to our nurses and providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the collaborative team. The vision is for our Medical Assistants to work 1 to 1 with their assigned provider while having the ability to rotate occasionally.

Responsibilities include:

Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, point of care testing, immunizations, procedures, and treatments as directed)
Performing clinically appropriate tasks related to patient panel management (phone calls, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.)
Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas
Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Certified Medical Assistant - Data Conversion - Various Issuers required Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred

Experience
Experience as a medical assistant, with demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks 3-5 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
- Ability to take vital signs, manual blood pressure, and collect blood samples and other specimens.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and other privacy and security regulations.
