Salary Range: $70,000 - $104,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We partner with manufacturers across Lansing seeking Cost Accountants who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
- Analyze production costs, variances, and profitability reports.
- Perform inventory valuation, reconciliation, and obsolescence analysis.
- Prepare cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations and margin analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of manufacturing budgets and cost forecasts.
- Investigate and explain cost variances, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Support month-end close activities related to inventory, production, and cost of sales.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles (e.g., standard costing, variance analysis).
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
- Experience with specific ERP costing modules (e.g., SAP CO, Oracle Cost Management).
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience/certification.
- SQL proficiency for direct data extraction and analysis.
