Overview:
Join our team as a highly skilled Senior Cardiac and Vascular Sonographer dedicated to performing advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures involving the heart and vascular system. In this rewarding role, you will utilize your expertise in both echocardiography and vascular imaging to focus on quality, safety, and enhancing the patient experience.
This multifaceted position requires an intermediate to advanced knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and disease states, as you independently perform a wide range of diagnostic cardiovascular ultrasound procedures. Your work will take place in both inpatient hospital settings and outpatient clinic environments, where you will capture high-quality digital images and measurements following established protocols. You will play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety through the adherence to procedure protocols and policies, while continually advancing your technical knowledge and skills.
As a clinical and technical expert, you will demonstrate excellence in clinical practice, possess strong teaching and mentoring abilities, and showcase leadership qualities by guiding other technologists.

Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced echocardiographic studies, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms.
- Conduct comprehensive vascular ultrasound exams, including carotid duplex, peripheral arterial and venous studies, and abdominal vascular imaging.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, vascular surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to interpret findings and support clinical decision-making.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely reporting of results.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment in accordance with manufacturer and hospital standards.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and ongoing education.
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of a two-year Allied Health Training Program in Ultrasound Technology or a Bachelor's program in health sciences (such as cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing). Graduates of accredited programs in cardiac ultrasound are preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of experience in inpatient/outpatient cardiac ultrasound is required.
Credentials:
Must have New Mexico State Licensure under the New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program (NMRTT), current BLS certification, and Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI: RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS: RDCS) credentials. Additionally, a Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI: RVS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (ARDMS: RVT) credential is required or relevant experience in a lead or resource sonographer role.
