Job Description

AI Engineer - Vertiv

Position Summary

Design, build, and operationalize AI solutions that automate and augment core business processes across Vertiv. Deliver production-grade models, retrieval pipelines, and agentic systems integrated with Vertiv data platforms and applications. Align works to VeGA multi-agent automation and Digital Products initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate business requirements into AI system designs; select model classes, retrieval strategies, and orchestration patterns suitable for multi-agent solutions under VeGA 3.0.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and features for training/inference, leverage SQL and Snowflake for structured data.
  • Develop, evaluate, and fine-tune ML/LLM models; optimize for latency, throughput, and cost; implement guardrails and evaluation harnesses.
  • Deploy models and services to cloud environments (AWS or equivalent); implement CI/CD and version control (Git/GitLab).
  • Implement retrieval-augmented generation and document AI; integrate with enterprise content sources and search.
  • Design and ship lightweight AI web apps and internal tools (e.g., Streamlit) for rapid value delivery to business users.
  • Instrument solutions for observability (metrics, tracing) and reliability; monitor drift, quality, and usage; iterate based on telemetry.
  • Partner with Product, Data, IT Security, and Business stakeholders to prioritize use cases across SIOP, NPDI, Field Services, Order-to-Cash, and related processes.
  • Adhere to Responsible AI, data governance, and compliance requirements (including SOX-related controls where applicable).
  • Document designs, runbooks, and operational procedures; contribute to shared patterns and reusable components.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years hands-on experience (including internships) delivering AI/ML solutions with Python and SQL.
  • Proven experience building data pipelines and deploying models to cloud environments; familiarity with AWS services, Docker, and CI/CD (Git/GitLab).
  • Working knowledge of LLMs, RAG, vector search, and prompt engineering; ability to evaluate models and retrieval performance.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical designs and deliver production systems collaboratively.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with Snowflake and feature/pipeline development for analytics and ML.
    • Experience building internal AI applications with Streamlit.
    • Experience designing multi-agent workflows aligned to VeGA 3.0.
    • Exposure to Vertiv business processes (SIOP, NPDI, Field Services, Order-to-Cash).
    • Familiarity with enterprise search and document AI patterns used in Vertiv AI Assistant initiatives.
Core Skills
  • Python (pandas, PyTorch/TensorFlow, LangChain-style orchestration), SQL, data modeling.
  • Cloud deployment (AWS or similar), containers, APIs, microservices, observability.
  • ML lifecycle: experiment tracking, evaluation, monitoring, continual improvement.
  • Secure software practices, access controls, and compliance awareness.
  • Clear technical writing and stakeholder communication.
Tools & Platforms
  • Snowflake, SQL; Git/GitLab; AWS services; Streamlit for internal UIs; enterprise content and search integrations consistent with Vertiv AI Assistant.
Performance Measures
  • Time-to-value for priority use cases, production reliability and quality metrics.
  • Model/service performance (latency, throughput, accuracy, cost).
  • Adoption and business impact within SIOP/NPDI/Field Services and other functions.
  • Reuse of shared components and compliance with governance standards.
