Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support a caseload of clients qualifying for Vocational and Community Inclusion services.
  • Assist employers in identifying and facilitating jobs for clients.
  • Help clients identify their job interests.
  • Provide job coaching and career development support to improve job skills.
  • Facilitate social integration between clients and other employees.
  • Offer personal and career counseling and behavioral interventions to enhance job performance.
  • Maintain excellent communication with managers and supervisors to support positive outcomes.
  • Teach clients at job sites using simple and repetitive training methods.
  • Monitor client activity to ensure productivity and quality outcomes.
  • Regularly report to Vocational Services Program Manager and Vocational Services Director.
  • Attend client PCSP team meetings as directed.
  • Understand the needs and limitations of assigned clients for effective supervision.
  • Notify supervisors of any issues with clients or employers promptly.
  • Assist in preparing daily/weekly job schedules for clients.
  • Document client activities and progress weekly.
  • Promote employment services in compliance with agency policies and state regulations.
  • Emphasize good work ethics and appropriate performance standards.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License (Required)
  • Insured and Reliable Vehicle (Required)
  • US Work Authorization
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience:

  • No prior experience as an Employment Specialist required; full training provided.
  • Experience working with adults with disabilities is preferred but not required.
  • Initial office training followed by community training with experienced staff.
  • Occasional office meetings expected.

This is a community-based position requiring a flexible approach to support clients in various locations. A company laptop and mileage reimbursement will be provided for on-the-road support. An office space is available when not meeting clients in the field.
