Title: Test Technician

Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration: 2 Years (Possible Extension)
Location: Fargo, ND 58102
Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (must be able to train on 1st shift)

Job Purpose

Performs instrumented testing following established procedures to ensure system performance meets product specifications. Supports product validation and verification, identifies issues, recommends corrective actions, and contributes to test procedure improvements.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, schedule, and conduct field or lab tests to validate new product designs
• Analyze test data, interpret results, and prepare detailed test reports
• Develop programs for data acquisition and instrumentation setup
• Install and configure instrumentation for test execution
• Document test procedures and assist in process documentation
• Provide feedback to engineering teams on design improvements
• Guide and direct test operators when required
• Maintain accurate test records and documentation
• Perform manual tests on electronic assemblies and document results
• Set up lab equipment per engineering requirements
• Conduct equipment and product maintenance

Technical Skills & Knowledge
• Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret engineering documents (schematics, diagrams)
• Understanding of troubleshooting methods and root-cause analysis
• Knowledge of Product Verification & Validation methodologies
• Familiarity with machine forms and competitor products
• Knowledge of internal engineering processes (EPDP, ETDP, ECAP)
• Working knowledge of computer systems, spreadsheets, and documentation tools
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

Required Education
• A.S. in Electronics, two-year technical diploma, equivalent military training, or equivalent experience

Required Experience
• Minimum 1 year of related technical experience
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in testing, electronics, or related fields

Required Skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently

Preferred Background / What Makes You Stand Out
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of electronic components and test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
• Experience in one or more:
- Electronics
- Electrical contracting
- Automotive repair (on-road/off-road)
- Networking/communication hardware
- Robotics, automation, mechatronics
- Farming or agricultural equipment

Additional Details
• Must be able to train on 1st shift before moving to assigned shift
• Requires use of metatarsal safety PPE
