We are hiring an Assistant Manager for our Schenectady financial center, located at 1616 Broadway.
Starting pay, $57-65k based on experience.
Business Hours: Monday & Tuesday 9am - 4:30pm, Wednesday 8am to 4:30pm, Thursday & Friday 9am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to 1pm. Actual shift may vary based on branch opening/closing/balancing needs.
Ensure the financial center is run in an efficient and productive manner, while maintaining compliance with overall credit union policies and procedures.
- Oversees all phases of the daily operations and supervision of the Member Service line including, but not limited to, staff training, new employee orientation, interviewing, staff scheduling and performance reviews. Ensures that all staff are informed of changes in policy and procedures affecting branch operations, and that policies are uniformly followed.
- Leads and motivates staff toward Sunmark's vision. Develops credibility by acting as a role model, providing leadership, and coaching staff toward appropriate behavior and job performance.
- Cross-sells all Credit Union products and services to the membership; solicits business. Provides Wow service in each interaction with members and staff. Create a successful sales culture and in achieving branch sales goals including, but not limited to, areas of deposits, loans, and maintaining cost of operations. Reviews sales goals' status with each employee bi-weekly.
- Provides general credit union lending information to members. Interviews loan applicants and informs members of current rates, policy requirements, and the lending services offered by the credit union. Ensures that all branch-generated loan applications, including credit bureau reports, are completed; then reviewed to identify opportunities to build and maximize member relationships and cross sell opportunities.
- Learns and is proficient in all systems and processes to be used while serving members.
- Reviews branch operational procedures to ensure compliance with overall credit union policy; oversees periodic audits of cash drawers and procedures, maintains and balances ATM, ITM and TCR. Keeps staff informed regarding changes in policy or procedures affecting branch operations. Responds to technical/operational questions from credit union staff and members and makes appropriate recommendations to the Financial Center Manager regarding possible solutions.
- Addresses disciplinary and/or performance problems with branch staff on a timely basis. Provides appropriate coaching, counseling, direction, and resolution, including the preparation and delivery of warnings and effective and appropriate decision making relative to supervision and corrective action. Keeps the Manager informed regarding any unusual department, member, or operational issues; and recommends possible solutions. Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication. Reviews and recommends procedure and process improvements when necessary.
- Responsible for all aspects of employee safety, security and maintenance.
Candidates should have a high school diploma/equivalent, degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years banking experience. Supervisory experience and exposure to the Teller/Lending side of financial centers is preferred. Must obtain and maintain NMLS registration.
